Our mission is to provide portable showers and living quarters trailers to non-profit and government organizations to bolster their response to disaster and community outreach at little or no cost to the organization or user.
Our goal is to partner with local churches, church conferences, non-profit organizations, and state and local governments in Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Missouri, Louisiana, Arkansas, Mississippi, and Alabama to support their humanitarian relief needs as soon we are called and to stay on-site as long as the mission requires.
How We're Funded:
We are funded through private donors, corporate sponsorship's, foundation grants, and donations from local church congregations.
1) We don't get paid to deploy our trailers during a disaster. From time to time we may have to ask our partner orgs to cover our deployment expense, but as a general rule, your donations cover our expenses. Some groups have lengthy lists that need to be "reimbursed" before they deploy, our list is simple: What type of trailer do you need to support your mission? We believe that if our partners aren't spending money on rentals, that money goes into relief and recovery for the impacted community.
2) We started this year with a small salary for the first time in our seven year history. A salary was set by our BoD but as the "summer donations slump" hit, payroll was suspended after only 3 months so we could continue to finalize several projects. To date, that has NOT been reinstated.
3) We don't take tax dollars by means of Federal or state grants to build, operate or maintain our fleet. We do it the hard way, having Faith our volunteers and private and corporate donors will provide for our needs as they arise.
4) Over 90% of all donations go toward operations (2017 will be closer to 96%!). The other 10% goes to things like printing, contract service not related to deployments, and conferences / training, etc. Our largest expenses any given year are insurance, maintenance, and fuel.
A lot of you have helped us be able to support hurricane relief efforts in Texas and your donations have made it possible for us do this without asking our partners to cover our expense. Thank you for trusting us with your donation and supporting, not only us, but our partners in the process.
